Duo Hofmaninger/Schwarz

SA/14/09 | 17:00 – 18:00 | ALTE NÄHSTUBE

The musicians are united by an intensive willingness to experiment with sounds and unconventional role allocation.

The saxophone, a well-known lead instrument for melodies turns to be used as a means of providing rhythm whereas the drums do no longer carry their usual function but interprete the
song in smoothe waves of melodies. Suddenly the pure African singing of the log drum which, accompanied by the bass clarinet, merges into spheric improvisation.

The initial material for the musical harmony is made up of original compositions, impressions and stories, always in accordance with acoustics and atmosphere of the location. Diverse possibilities of the position of the band are tested and included in the overall performance. The core quality of the ensemble is certainly the determined love of experimenting with sound by challenging the certain functions of the instruments used.

This will inevitably put a spell on all the listeners.

Lisa Hofmaninger ––– bass clarinet, soprano saxophone
